Jesus encounters a man who wishes to know how to gain eternal life, but he does not like Jesus’ answer. And the disciples don’t much like what Jesus has to say to them next: wealth and the kingdom of God do not mix easily. It all comes down to the gospel in a nutshell: “Many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.”
