Sabbath (Part 3)

The “seize the day” mentality that we tend to adopt as we go about our daily lives is fundamentally at odds with the notion of sabbath. The word sabbath means “cease” or “stop,” and that is precisely what God asks us to do in order to observe the sabbath. Remembering the sabbath is remembering to stop, to pause, to rest, to NOT seize the day every once in a while, so that we can remember to rely upon God to provide what we need.
