The World of the End (Part 3)
The lamb breaks open the seals on the scroll one by one, and with each seal, a horse and rider are sent to the earth, representing conquest, slaughter, famine, and death. Readers have often viewed these as progressive stages of events that will take place one day during the end times, but in reality these were things happening at the very time of John’s writing, and they have continued ever since. They are the natural outworking of human sin in a fallen world, and Christians are called to bear faithful witness in the midst of it all.
