The prophet Amos delivers God’s unrelenting judgment upon the people of Israel because they have neglected to maintain justice for the needy. Israel assumed that “The Day of the Lord” would be the day of their victory and vindication among the nations, but it turns out that it will be a day of judgment. We will all one day have to answer for our actions.
