Ruth—now a household name in the Old Testament—is anything but ordinary. She is a widow and a foreigner. She does not belong. There is no reason at all for Israel to pay attention to her story. And yet in her life we see not only exemplary faithfulness, but also a picture of what God intends for all of God’s people.
