The Healer (Part 1)
A leper comes to Jesus to be cleansed, and Jesus either responds with pity (as we would expect) or with anger (which no one saw coming). The problem lies in the textual tradition of the New Testament and the question of which reading (pity or anger) is more likely to be original. This puzzle is embedded in the story, begging us to consider both as possible (and reasonable) responses by Jesus.
