At the burning bush, God’s name is revealed to Moses even as Moses makes excuses for why he is not qualified to be God’s emissary to Egypt. God’s name, as revealed to Moses, establishes not only God’s enigmatic identity, but it also establishes unequivocally our identity as God’s beloved people.
