The story of Abraham reaches its climactic conclusion with the (in)famous scene in which he is commanded by God to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice to God. This dramatic scene serves not only as a test of Abraham’s faithfulness, but also as a test of the trust that God has placed in Abraham—and in us.
