Churches partnering to feed the hungry
Every fourth Wednesday
MPC is partnering with three other churches of the Presbytery of Detroit to provide a complete, hot meal for the hungry in Detroit every Wednesday of the month. Every fourth Wednesday, our church sends a team of 8 to 12 people to Spirit of Hope Church in Detroit. We hope you will make plans to join us! For more information or to sign up, conact Virginia Mantela (810-388-8168).
Our church family helping one another
The MPC Mission Committee would like to coordinate ways we as a church can provide assistance to members of our church and community on an as-needed basis. Before we can begin to offer assistance, we need to have volunteers available to help out.
Below is a link to a form with a list of possible needs. If you are able to offer assistance in any of these areas, please indicate that to us on the form. Once we know who can help, we will be able to provide a means for those needing assistance to contact us.
A coordinator will match volunteers with those needing help and make contact to arrange the assistance.
Community Sharing, our local food pantry, has recently seen their food costs increase, so we are responding by participating in their "one can a week" initiative. Bring one item to donate each week when you come for worship—it may not seem like a lot, but over time and with wide participation, we can have a significant impact.
Wanted/Needed
Drivers who will deliver "Meals on Wheels" to area shut-ins. It would entail approximately 1-11/2 hours, once every 5 weeks. Please consider giving of your time to help those who are shut-in and need a hot meal once a day.
