In Jesus Christ, God calls people to faith and to membership in the Church, the body of Christ.... The triune God, incarnate in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, gives to the Church not only its mission but also its understanding of membership.... Membership in the Church of Jesus Christ is a joy and a privilege. It is also a commitment to participate in Christ's mission. A faithful member bears witness to God's love and grace and promises to be involved responsibly in the ministry of Christ's Church.

- PC(USA) Form of Government

We welcome all into participation in the life of our community of faith regardless of age, gender, race, ability, or even belief. We understand the church to exist for the benefit of the world, and not the other way around. We are called to serve all people and to welcome all people.

We also understand the church to be the body of Christ: a collection of people with different gifts and abilities who share a common faith and are committed to doing the work that God has called us to in Christ. For this reason we invite into active membership all those who call Jesus Lord and who desire to be a part of what God is doing through MPC and through the Church universal.
